  1. I was a young British soldier, called out from Nee Soon to help fight this fire. I believe I was the only service man injured that night, by stepping backwards into a small can of cooking oil, a young Boy Scout cut the jungle boot lace so medics could get to the burn and treat it. I finished up in BMH Singapore and then BMH Cameron Highlands for two weeks.
